Toggle1. Choose nozzles and methods
To use a high-pressure washer effectively, you need to choose the correct nozzle and nozzle. Some machines have interchangeable nozzles that can be used for two purposes.
One is to reduce pressure and absorb detergent. The other is high-pressure flushing at different spray angles. Generally, the smallest angle provides the most potent “punch.”
For example, if you plan to remove stubborn stains from the driveway, you should use 0-degree angle. When removing debris like leaves, sand, etc., away from the house, the requires you to use a broader range of angles, like a 25 or 45-degree nozzle.
Note: Before using the trigger gun, make sure the nozzle/nozzle is fully installed. Failure to do so may cause the tip to become a projectile and lose or damage property.
2. Use the right washing detergents
Only use chemicals and cleaning solutions approved for use in pressure washing machines. For example, Citrus Degreaser is used to remove excess grease and industrial cleaning.
Some pressure washers are equipped with a detergent injector, ensuring a continuous flow of cleaning solution into the water stream.
If you purchase unapproved detergents, they may not be environmentally friendly and could cause the pressure washer components to deteriorate over time. A solution that worked for concrete, might cause damage to wood.
3. Test the pressure supply
Test the pressure of the pressure washer. It is best to start spraying a few feet away from any object. Slowly move the rod from the surface to be cleaned to a distance of 3-4 feet.
Move the rod from side to side several times and check that surfaces are clean before moving to another area. If additional cleaning is required, bring the rod closer to the body (approximately 1-2 feet).
The reason for the gradual cleaning is that high-pressure cleaners are potent. If it is started too close, it may damage the object instead of cleaning it.
4. Plan before cleaning
Be careful when spraying around areas like windows, boxes, vents, eaves, flowers, or lamps. If you aim at them directly, they may break or be damaged. Also, point the trigger gun down to avoid spraying under the wall panels.
This prevents the wall panels from collapsing. Also, be careful when cleaning the edges around windows. Small, inconspicuous holes may make your house leak. To prevent this, please check the window frame for holes, dents, and scratches.
5. Pressure washing
Pressure washing is similar to painting. If you enter the “happy mode,” you may start spraying everything. These random pressureful sprays are not thorough and exhaustive; they will make you miss spots and waste time to clean twice.
To overcome this problem, please spray horizontally in a smooth movement from left to right. Cover an area 3-4 feet wide in one stroke.
6. Pause before flushing
Because the cleaning solution is used, you should wait for 5 to 10 minutes for the detergent to begin to dissolve the dirt, but do not leave it for too long to dry it out. When preparing to rinse, please start from the top and work towards the bottom until there is no detergent in the entire area.
