She was raised by an entrepreneur, and worked closely with her father, Dennis, since she was a teenager. When she was in her 20s, her family home and family rental properties all needed new deck surfaces. The solutions presented to them then did not have a long lifespan. Railing posts, stucco siding, and a hot tub on the deck presented challenges. So, Dennis got to work on a superior solution. From frustration came innovation! Research led them to a game-changing solution: polyurethane coatings. After receiving the training to install this trowelled-on decking membrane, the two got to work on the family home and rental properties. It wasn’t long before Keri developed a passion for the work, and eventually, NewPort Dry Deck was born. Because the OmegaDeck product is liquid, it works great in various applications. For example, it can be installed regardless of the type of siding, posts, hot tubs, or other obstacles present. It will not fade, crack, peel or deteriorate like a vinyl deck cover will. Our existing deck had a fibreglass coating that was in very poor condition and needed replacing. After getting quotes for 2 or 3 different coating options from different firms, we decided to pursue the Omega Stone option with Newport Dry Deck. We visited the owner’s home to see their existing decks and learn more about the company and the process. We were very impressed and decided to proceed with them. First of all, let me say the work ethic, the attention to detail and the focus on the quality of the crew was OUTSTANDING. I can’t say enough good things about them. I was so impressed. There were several pockets of rot that were not visible until they started the demo of the old deck plus there were a couple of structural issues they uncovered in the process. All were repaired far beyond what I expected. They pay attention to what is in the best interests of the client and the way they would deal with challenges if it were their own home. We loved the team and absolutely love the finished deck. I would not hesitate in recommending them.

My wife and I recently ran into a representative of Newport Dry Deck. They remembered us and asked how the work they had done for us eight years ago was holding up. So never too late to put in a good word for a great product.

Until last year, when we finally got around to putting a roof over it, our back deck was uncovered, north-facing and surrounded by multiple trees. It took a good beating every year, and aside from a twice-yearly power wash and a bit of scrubbing in the odd place, it has required no maintenance.

We also have large, heavy half-wine barrels full of plants, and they, along with other planters and furniture, have been relocated and dragged around the deck all these years. Happy to say there is not a mark or tear on any of the deck surface. This product seems indestructible and has maintained it’s good looks in spite of the wear and tear we have subjected it to.

We would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for this type of deck covering. Not the cheapest option out there but worth everything you pay for!
